Why residential care?
Residential treatment stands out as the most impactful approach for addressing trauma and stressor related disorders, substance misuse disorder related to alcohol or drug use and mental health disorders, due to its immersive environment. Beyond providing necessary detoxification and medical supervision, it’s particularly effective for individuals seeking refuge from high-risk environments.
The Highlands Residential Program provides a compassionate and evidence-based approach in a luxurious facility designed for healing and recovery. Through personalised support, proven techniques and immersive experiences, you’ll be supported every step of the way.
By immersing oneself in a supportive and therapeutic setting, individuals can harness the power of their surroundings to embark on a transformative journey towards lasting recovery.
Our client’s journey is carefully crafted at Highlands for optimal recovery and long-term success. With a minimum stay of 28 days, we ensure comprehensive support and guidance from their first day. Recovery is an ongoing journey; as such, our Aftercare Program extends for twelve to twenty-four months, offering continued support as clients transition back into their daily lives. Each journey step is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring every client receives personalised attention and resources necessary for lasting wellness.
We at the Highlands Institute of Behavioural Medicine have put substance use disorders and trauma and stressor-related disorders front and centre of our clinical program. We also treat mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression and relationship attachment issues.
Our Trauma Program provides a compassionate and evidence-based approach in a luxurious facility designed for healing and recovery. Through personalised support and proven techniques like stabilisation, reprocessing, and post-traumatic growth, we empower individuals to reclaim their lives and thrive.
The program here at Highlands is founded on the years of excellent research from The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Our approach is rooted in evidence-based practices.
