Your trusted guide to recovery
An aftercare program refers to the therapeutic care of an individual after they have left residential care. Understanding that recovery is a journey that extends beyond a mere quick fix, our team is committed to the long-term wellbeing of our clients.
The Highlands Aftercare Program extends beyond our residential care program, focusing on the ongoing therapeutic support essential for sustained recovery. Tailored to meet individual needs, our Aftercare Program provides access to outpatient clinics or virtual consultations, ensuring continuity of care beyond the residential stay. Emphasising a holistic approach, we empower clients with resources, guidance, and community support vital for navigating life beyond treatment, fostering long-term wellbeing and fulfilment throughout their recovery journey.
Highlands goes above and beyond in its commitment to supporting clients beyond their residential stay, offering an extensive aftercare program spanning twelve to twenty-four months. Recognising that sustained recovery requires ongoing support and guidance, our aftercare program provides a structured framework tailored to each individual’s needs. Whether through regular check-ins, therapy sessions, or access to support groups, we ensure that our clients have the resources and assistance necessary for maintaining progress and navigating the challenges of post-treatment life with confidence and resilience.
We at the Highlands Institute of Behavioural Medicine have put substance use disorders and trauma and stressor-related disorders front and centre of our clinical program. We also treat mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression and relationship attachment issues.
Our Trauma Program provides a compassionate and evidence-based approach in a luxurious facility designed for healing and recovery. Through personalised support and proven techniques like stabilisation, reprocessing, and post-traumatic growth, we empower individuals to reclaim their lives and thrive.
The program here at Highlands is founded on the years of excellent research from The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Our approach is rooted in evidence-based practices.
We ensure our clients have access to the resources, guidance, and community essential for sustaining progress and embracing a fulfilling life beyond treatment, supporting them every step of the way in their recovery journey.
